National University College Rankings

State of California has one of the best state university systems in the United States. The nine University of California universities that offer undergraduate degrees and graduate programs such as law, medical, business (MBA). San Francisco (UCSF) is also a University of California campus, but it is dedicated exclusively to graduate study so UCSF is out of this ranking.

These schools rank among the top 100 private colleges and universities in the U.S. on Forbes’ 2009 list of America’s Best Colleges. A Wall Street Journal survey of corporate recruiters released Monday about Top 25 Colleges and Schools picked by Job Recruiter Ranking.

The newspaper surveyed 842 top recruiting executives to find the schools that best prepare students to land satisfying, well-paying jobs that also have growth potential. Responses from 479 recruiters were received. As a group, the survey participants hired more than 43,000 new graduates in the past year.

Top 100 National Colleges and Universities Rankings in United States – Schools in the National Universities category, such as Yale University and UCLA, offer a full range of undergraduate majors, master’s, and doctoral degrees. These colleges also are committed to producing groundbreaking research.

This Top 100 Colleges Ranking guides are calculated by cost, Fall Acceptance Rate, Peer Assessment Score, Average Freshman Retention Rate, 6-Year Graduate Rate, SAT/ACT 25th – 75th percentiles, 2009 Freshmen in Top 10 percent of high school classes, Classes with under 20 students, and Classes with 50 or more students in 2009 Data – which is not included in this list.

Regional Universities offer a full range of undergrad programs and some master’s programs but few doctoral programs. These rankings are split into four regions: North, South, Midwest, and West.
