About Archeology Colleges and Universities:
Archaeology has two major branches—historical archaeology and forensic archaeology. Historical archaeologists engage in the traditional work of digging up ancient cities, researching antiquities, and reconstructing a portrait of now-extinct cultures. Forensic archaeologists work in law enforcement, recovering and analyzing buried evidence associated with crimes. The two enterprises use many similar techniques of recovery, cataloguing, and analysis.
