Marquette University
Marquette University (pronounced /mɑrˈkɛt/) is a private, coeducational, Jesuit, Roman Catholic university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founded by the Society of Jesus in 1881, the school is one of 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The university is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and currently has a student body of 11,600. Marquette is one of the largest Jesuit universities in the United States, and the largest private university in Wisconsin.
Marquette is located on a 93-acre (380,000 m2) campus in the near downtown Milwaukee neighborhood of University Hill, on the former Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. Lake Michigan is roughly one mile east of the edge of campus. The campus encompasses 9th Street on the east, to 20th Street on the west, and from Wells Street on the north, to Clybourn Street on the south. Wisconsin Avenue, a major thoroughfare in Milwaukee, bisects the campus, placing academic buildings on the south side, and residence halls and other offices and buildings on the north side. Named after the university, the Marquette Interchange is also close to campus.

- Marquette awarded grant to study emergency room dental care - Tue, 30 Nov 2010
Christopher Okunseri, an associate professor of dental public health at Marquette University School of Dentistry, has received a $300,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to study how hospital emergency rooms provide non-traumatic dental treatments.
He will use the money to study populations seeking dental care in emergency departments. He will also explore which medications they are receiving for non-traumatic dental conditions such as cavities or bleeding gums, and whether there are related racial and ethnic disparities.

Marquette University Law School has announced their latest addition to its faculty: Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig. Selig has been lecturing at the law school since 2009 but now has been named an adjunct professor.

MU to get $4.75 million for orthopedic treatment
Marquette has received a $4.75 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to improve treatment and equipment for children with orthopedic disabilities, which helps solidify Marquette's role as a research university for pediatric orthopedics and is the kind of development that ultimately could lead to more private-industry local jobs.
