University of North Dakota

The University of North Dakota (UND) is a public university in Grand Forks, North Dakota, USA. Established by the Dakota Territorial Assembly in 1883, six years before the establishment of the state of North Dakota, UND is the oldest and largest university in the state and enrolls over 14,000 students.  University of North Dakota was founded as a university with a strong liberal arts foundation.   Today, UND also offers a variety of professional and specialized programs, including the only schools of law and medicine in the state.  University of North Dakota is also known for its School of Aerospace Sciences which trains airplane pilots from around the world.

(ret.) and North Dakota native Byron Dorgan, with special guest Grand Forks City Councilman Hal Gershman, and moderated by Professor Curt Stofferahn, sociology department and chair of the University Senate, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Chester Fritz Library, which is sponsoring this event.
  • UND Proud Award and Meritorious winners named - Thu, 17 May 2012
    Ten University of North Dakota staff members were given Meritorious Service Awards and one staff member received the Ken and Toby Baker UND Proud Award at the annual recognition ceremony for staff personnel Tuesday, May 15.

    Julie Anderson, associate professor of nursing at the University of North Dakota, is one of five new members named to the National Advisory Council for Nursing Research (NACNR), the principal advisory board for the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR).
