University of North Texas

The University of North Texas, informally also referred to as UNT or North Texas is a public university located in Denton, Texas. Denton is the flagship campus of the University of North Texas System, which also includes the UNT Health Science Center at Fort Worth, the University of North Texas at Dallas, and the University of North Texas at Dallas School of Law scheduled to open in the fall of 2011.

With an enrollment of over 36,000 students, UNT is the fourth-largest university in the state by enrollment. The university is a member of the Federation of North Texas Area Universities, offering various graduate degrees in coordination with Texas Woman’s University and Texas A&M University-Commerce. The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

UNT’s athletics program, known as the Mean Green, competes in thirteen NCAA Division I-A sports and has been a member of the Sun Belt Conference since 2001. The University’s traditional sports rival is Southern Methodist University, located in Dallas, Texas; the rival football programs traditionally play in the Safeway Bowl. The Mean Green is the latest conference champion in Men’s Basketball.

tate Mandated Tuition for Texas Residents is $50.00 per credit hour. State Mandated Tuition for Non-Residents is $360.00 per credit hour. Board Designated Tuition is $138.76 per credit hour.

Students enrolled in graduate courses are charged an additional Graduate Level Tuition of $50.00 per credit hour. Graduate students enrolled in graduate level courses do not pay the Undergraduate Advising fee of $3.25 per hour. Specific information regarding the mandatory fees is listed below.
